FS Engineer Certification

FS Engineer

Conditions to take the exam

  • Engineering degree (or equivalent) or more than 10 years of experience.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the process industry (operation, maintenance, engineering, consulting).

  • Completion of the FS1E course (Functional Safety in the Process Industry) or an equivalent course within the past 6 months.

  • Submission of a completed pre-exam form to validate eligibility.

Exam details

  • Online exam consisting of 50 questions.

  • Duration: 75 minutes.

  • Passing score: 7 out of 10 or higher.

  • Certificate validity: 4 years.

  • Training taken in last 6 months:

    -FS1E Course: 5 credits (250€)

    -Other Courses: 9 credits (450€)

FS Specialist Certification

FS Engineer

Conditions to take the exam

  • Engineering degree (or equivalent) or more than 10 years of experience.

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in the process industry (operation, maintenance, engineering, consulting).

  • Completion of FS2E course (Design & SIL Verification) and minimum experience in Functional Safety.

  • Submission of a completed pre-exam form to validate eligibility.

Exam details

  • Online exam consisting of 60 questions.

  • Duration: 90 minutes.

  • Passing score: 8 out of 10 or higher.

  • Certificate validity: 4 years.

FS Junior Engineer

FS Engineer

This certification recognizes foundational knowledge in Functional Safety for professionals who do not yet meet the full experience criteria for “FS Engineer” certification. It’s an excellent starting point for those working towards higher-level certification.
